Not far from the Italian capital, only about 25 kilometers to the south, is the small town of Zagarolo. This is where Cantini Fedirici is based, a family business that has repeatedly drawn attention to the potential and demands of the business with its wines over the past few years. It all started very modestly when Antonio Federici founded the company in 1960. He was interested in wines that bring a lot of joy even when they are young and thus fit the vivacious mood of those years in Bella Italia.
But it is Antonio's son who sets the course again. At the beginning of the millennium he went on the quality offensive. On the one hand, this means the work in the vineyards, on the other hand, the manual and creative process in the cellar. But Federici also relies on new grape varieties and complements the traditional Trebbiano, Malvasia del Lazio, Malvasia di Candia and Grechetto with other national and international varieties such as Merlot, Montepulciano, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovinese.
For this reason, Federici's wines are surprisingly different and a real insider tip! Its modern equipment stands for the change within the Federici family as well as its concept "the evolution of species" and makes it a real eye-catcher!
The wine family from Zagarolo receives very successful support from the oenologist Franco Bernabei. 98 points from Luca Maroni for the Rome 500 Special Edition underline the outstanding expertise of the winemaker.
