A masterpiece by the Marchese Antinori.

Insoglio di Cinghiale means "wild boar wallow". Admittedly, it loses some of its charm in translation, if it is charming at all to name such a delicate wine that way. However, it was an impressionistic image that was the inspiration here. And the Insoglio del Cinghiale from Tenuta di Biserno is truly inspiring: the blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot is equally fruity and floral, smoky, spicy and earthy. Its fruity bouquet is dominated by cherries, cassis and cranberries, thyme, pepper and violets. The eight months in barriques contribute wonderfully rounded off notes of vanilla, cocoa and coconut. The taste, rich in finesse, is determined by the full-bodied, finely spicy fruitiness, which is juicy and velvety with a beautiful glaze. You will surely suspect that such a drop goes extremely well with wild boar, which is certainly no coincidence. It might just as well be that you can find a red wine to indulge in (if not wallow in) at Tenuta Di Biserno Insoglio del Cinghiale...

40% of the Insoglio is aged in French oak barrels for 4 months. It is wonderfully fruity, with notes of blueberries and violets. A rather medium-bodied wine with velvety tannins, fine and linear at the same time.

The grapes are carefully sorted and then gently crushed. The fermentation lasted between 14 and 21 days at a temperature of around 25-28°C. 10% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels, the rest in steel tanks. 40% of the wine was then aged in French oak barrels for 4 months.

"The Insoglio del Cinghiale is a powerful wine, bursting with fruit and with great depth of flavor, which can already be enjoyed with pleasure, but will keep for several years" Jens Priewe WEIN GOURMET author.
