The Weber brothers describe the entry-level wine in their range as unison. Grapes from different locations are combined, which have one thing in common: they grew on the backwaters of the Saar.

This Riesling impresses with Saar-typical, moderate alcohol, a crisp acidity paired with a flattering residual sweetness and lots of minerality.

Even if the backwater is actually the natural arch of the Saar, after the Saar sewerage system was installed in the early 1980s, the term "backwater" became more common in regional usage. A beautiful piece of land, which is crossed by the Saar and was praised in 2012 with the description: "most beautiful wine view of the Moselle".
