Braida - Montebruna Barbera d'Asti DOCG 2019

The Braida Montebruna Barbera is made from 100% Barbera grapes and comes from the top wine area "Montebruna Cru" in Piedmont.

In the 1960s, Giacomo Bologna laid the foundation for the Braida winery.

Today it is his grandsons Raffaella and Giuseppe who lead the estate to new successes while preserving the old tradition. In the municipality of Rocchetta Tanaro and in other regions, they cultivate local and international grape varieties. The Braida Montebruna Barbera d'Asti brings a characteristic profile and a lot of rich elegance to the glass.

Grape Varieties : 60% Barbera, 20% Pinot Nero, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot

Nose:

The Braida Barbera D'Asti Montebruna DOC is a pure Barbera from the "Montebruna" site and smells intensely of blackberries and cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of wood and smoke as well as a pinch of pepper.

The Braida Barbera D'Asti Montebruna DOC is open and opulent on the nose. Blackberries, spice, ripe cherries, fine roasted aromas and almonds.

Taste:

Amazingly complex on the palate, balanced, perfectly integrated acidity, delicate tannins, very elegant with a medium-length finish.

The tannins are present, but silky and finely surrounded by the sweet fruit of the wine.

Expansion: The grapes for this single site wine come from the new "Montebruna" vineyard, with an ideal south-west orientation. After harvesting by hand and gently crushing the grapes, the mash is fermented in steel tanks. The young wine matures for a year in large oak barrels of 20 to 55 hl each, followed by a three-month bottle aging.

At the table, Mediterranean cuisine welcomes the Braida Montebruna Barbera d'Asti at your side.
