The secret star from Serralunga...

The Massolino Dolcetto d'Alba DOC from Piedmont welcomes you unobtrusively, but with an intense ruby red that shimmers violet in the light

It's not just his face that's energetic and strong. A predominantly fresh-fruity scent blooms in the nose after opening. Lovely sweet fruit notes of blueberries form a fascinating combination with the spicy aromas of liquorice and leather. Due to these components, the bouquet looks new, surprising. The first sip, however, seems familiar. The Massolino Dolcetto d'Alba with the DOC seal spreads fleshy and wonderfully elegant on the tongue.

The concentrated structure is perfectly balanced, in harmony with the pleasant finish that describes the end of this first moment of pleasure. Since the Dolcetto ripens quickly in the Mediterranean climate of Piedmont, the Massolino family grows it on the vineyards of their estate, especially in shady locations. They have chosen an outstanding location for this, because Serralunga d'Alba is one of the few areas that produce Dolcetto in the quality levels DOC and DOCG. On the Margheria, Parafada and Vigna Rionda vineyards, the grape varieties benefit from the mostly calcareous soil, sometimes interspersed with marl and sand. The result is mineral wines with a thoroughly spicy aroma, such as the Dolcetto d'Alba DOC. The dry red wine tastes wonderful at a drinking temperature of 18°C with pasta, which is strongly seasoned and aromatic.
